Biography of O'Shiny
Born in 1966 in Paris, Bénédicte Goudemant, alias O'Shiny, embodies the essence of an emerging contemporary painter. Although self-taught, his artistic career is marked by an influence, imbued with the aesthetics and spirituality of the Far East, inherited from his maternal family origins. This transcendent vision of life is reflected in his creations, which transport us to places conducive to meditation, where a deep serenity reigns.
Endowed with a passion for the world of haute couture, she began studying fashion design at Paris ESMOD, taking evening classes. There she acquired the basics of this art, such as the creation of fashion silhouettes, the construction of mood boards and the knowledge of different fabrics.
The opportunity of a year in Miami, in the United States, is offered to her, and she creates her own ready-to-wear line there under the name of BNS FRENCH DESIGN. This experience allows her to refine her artistic approach to materials and textiles, while developing a keen sense of precision and perfection.
Her journey then takes her to New York, where she designs a new collection.
Back in Paris, his passion for art led him to deepen his knowledge of art history as an auditor at the illustrious École du Louvre. It was there that she discovered her true vocation: painting. Since then, artistic creation has become an essential part of her life, guided by a relentless quest for beauty and expression.
O'Shiny's influences and references draw from the great masters of the art. Henri Matisse's daring color combinations, Gustav Klimt's precious compositions, the tranquility of Japanese gardens, Hindu architecture and Art Nouveau fuel his creative imagination. These various sources of inspiration mingle to give birth to a unique visual language, where each work tells a unique story.
